More and more businesses are seeing the power of Proximity Marketing and we get lots of enquires about how they can use this technology. Many businesses have a local premises but many business are out at trade shows and other events and want a portable system. Twitter is a victim of it's own success with millions of users now and a staggering number of tweets per week.

In software development, ID's like this are stored as an unsigned (positive) long which in general has a limit of 4,294,967,295

Bluekulu is running a trial for a client that is a fast food chain. In a shopping center, the Bluekulu Media Server found 3500 phones, and successfully sent to over 400 phones over a 3 day period. The offer was a "buy one get one free" and it will be interesting to see the redemption rate.

Ministorage.ie uses Bluekulu for location based advertising

Ministorage.ie is using Bluekulu's Bluetooth Marketing solution to attract new business. Students often have large amounts of books and equipment to store over the Summer and ministrorage was keen to advertise to this tech savvy market. Having researched the options, they were keen to try out Bluetooth marketing and chose Bluekulu to provide them with a solution. The bluekulu system allows their staff to create new messages easily in the office and then deploy the system in a car to be used at events.

Power consumption of The BLuekulu Media Server

The Bluekulu media Servers run on voltages between 12 and 24 volt DC and the supplied mains power adapter is 18 volt. The power consumption is very low but I was always assuming that it was around 5 watt as indicated by the supplier of the motherboards. We have had a number of units running in cars on direct DC power and also on inverters. We have also had the unit used with portable power supplies from Maplin (http://buy.maplin.co.uk/Free_UK_Delivery/Laptop_Rechargeable_Battery_Pac...) but they are a bit big at A4 size. and expensive.

A local Cork retailer of IT equipment used Bluekulu to send a special offer to their customers and to passing trade. The street is very busy in the evenings when the shop is shut, so many of the messages were received by customers out of work hours. The offer proved to be popular with students.
